Hi Folks,
We are looking to move our 466 from NYC to Chesapeake Bay, and looking for input on great marinas.
Criteria:
1. Secure and safe
2. Reasonably priced (doesn't have to be cheap or expensive, just value for money)
3. Walk to restaurant or Pub
4. Pool nearby
We have done a little research on Solomon Island and kind of liking that area, but we have no ties to any particular location at this point.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated, and hoping not to cause any territorial battles here (grin).

Re: Chesapeake Bay Marinas
It all depends on where you want to be on the bay. We are on the north bay eastern shore. http://skipjackcove.com/
We have a bar / restaurant on site and three others with free water taxi service in season. A beautiful huge pool with an amazing view of the sassafras river.
Great docks, electric cable etc. Great bunch of people, all fresh water.
Downside is about 25 minutes depending on speed of your boat to the actual bay. If you have a 25 mph cruise you could get to rock hall in about 90 minutes. Baltimore inner harbor 2 hrs. (some will same much quicker, but not with no wakes, it not possible).
Annapolis about 2.5 hrs.
If you want to be further down the bay, good points are very good fishing. Many rivers with nice protected marinas.
Bad would be the water can get pretty big, really fast, without any apparent reason. Also, once you get south of fairlee creek area, you will not want to swim in the bay due to nettles (jellyfisfh) you will need to move into a river to get in the water.
Let me know if i can help you!

We were at the Bay Bridge Marina for several years. It checks off all of your points but may be a little on the pricey side. Direct access to the bay and centrally located to a lot of great upper bay destinations. Floating docks, resturant, pool, services.
