Re: Rudder angle?????
I thought is was a degree. Like 30 degrees? Seems like a very simple set up. I am commissioning it Saturday!

Re: Rudder angle?????
Im pretty certain its looking for the current rudder angle (degrees) for calibration. If im not mistaken 0 degrees is dead center.
Been along time since I set up an autopilot, so look for a second opinion to be sure.

Re: Rudder angle?????
Well, according to the set up wizard, my rudder turns each direction 25 degrees. The set up wizard was a snap, now for a ride to calibrate the sensor. That will be Saturday!

Re: Rudder angle?????
If it’s a new Raymarine autopilot it doesn’t matter. Once your past that step the autopilot figures everything out on its own. I installed a new Raymarine EV1 this year and after 103 hours so far it works perfectly. I didn’t know or input the angle. Raymarine will tell you the same thing. Good luck it is a great addition to the boat!
Thank you for the help!

Re: Rudder angle?????
Dave, yes it figured it out for me. I have a question though, When in the set up menu, I believe the steering was asked and there was proportional and (lol) “BANG BANG”. What the heck is BANG BANG?
I did the seatrial while it was detecting magnetic, and once out of the Channel, I did a 360 and the pilot finished set up, and appears to work well. I now need to understand how to get it to follow one of my routes. i do have it networked with the Ray e97 and e127, so I think I am AGAIN OVERCOMPLICATING THINGS.
Anyway, the BIG question is BANG BANG?
