Vinyl in cabin
Contacted Carver on what material they use on the dinner is almost impossible. I gave the the part numbers right off the material and still just a run around. Not impressed.

Re: Vinyl in cabin
Carver does a pretty good job of suppling information on boats built along time ago. keep in mind many manufactures from 1998 aren't even around any more, let alone able to answer a phone and look up records for free, so I wouldn't be to upset.
When we did some upgrades, we simply took a piece of the vinyl to the local fabric store and were able to get a pretty good match.

Re: Vinyl in cabin
It seems like the parts person I am emailing could care less about spending some time to dig into it. I give the the hull number and part number, tell them blue color and they come back with: I think it could be this tan or gray vinyl.

Re: Vinyl in cabin
email is great but many times overlooked. Suggest you call them if you want real answers with a personal touch.
That being said, it is most likely discontinued by the manufacturers as I doubt 20 year old vinyl is still produced in the same color by the same manufacturer.

Re: Vinyl in cabin
Big, the response you're getting is not consistent with experiences had by many owners in this forum. As a matter of fact, first time I heard of such disinterest. If you want, send me your hull # and I will drive over to Carver during the week. I live 12 miles from the main plant in Pulaski, WI. Is this vinyl on the seats or the trim? The only blue I have are the seat covers in my dinette, but that is cloth. Is there any possibility a PO changed it out at some point? That blue color could be confusing the parts person, Carver generally used really light colors on vinyl, like white or tan. We will figure it out. Where in Michigan are you?
