Green bilge pump indicator light
Hi all,
1990 Santego 3467:
One of the bilge pump lights is not working. The pump and the float switch are fine. How do I remove and replace the light? What brand replacement should I look for?
Thanks,
Barry

Re: Green bilge pump indicator light
There are two versions - the easiest must pops out, the other has a nut on the back. So first just see if you can pry it out. Most are 1/4" hole size, but measure to be sure. Replace it with a 12VDC replacement, but I would suggest an LED so it will not burn out again. If it will not pop/pull out, then you will have to either get to the back of the panel or take the panel off to get the bulb/light out.
You can replace it with your choice of color and style - but something like this (from Amazon):
Alpinetech 6mm 1/4" Green 12V LED Metal Indicator Pilot Custom Dash Light Lamp with Black Body PLB-6
or from eBay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/PLB6-G-ATI-6mm ... Sw7aBVJCNX
Good luck!

Re: Green bilge pump indicator light
Barry, if your 3467 is like my 3867, your talking about the indicator lights at the helm. They should be the same as in the circuit breaker panel. Check out this post for the part numbers. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4485&p=32873#p32873

Re: Green bilge pump indicator light
Yes, I’m pretty confident they are. Prior to Escape Plan I owned an 88 Santego 3067 and it used the same panel indicator lights. I know because I replaced them on it too. The only difference is that on my 3867, I upgraded and used the LED vs the incandescent.

Re: Green bilge pump indicator light
I was able to pull out the light. It started working again after I disturbed it! It is a Solico indicator lamp. I think similar ones are still available:

I guess I will keep an eye on this and see if it continues to work.
Thanks,
Barry

Barry, Yes it is. The exact replacement For the one in your photo is Solico part number 1835-1-12-20140. You can order them from Spemco or Lake-View Electronic or other places.

Re: Green bilge pump indicator light
Thanks Ron! I appreciate the info about where to order. These little lights are important safety items so that you know when you are taking on water while underway.

Re: Green bilge pump indicator light
Follow up:
I got the lights from LakeView Electronics in Wisconson. They are not expensive. It is a very good small company.

I tried a Solico LED first but it was too dim. I then ordered an incandescent and it was much brighter, similar to the original. It was hard to see the LED in daylight on the bridge. I left the working lamp in place for the other pump.
Thanks again!
