I was wondering anyone knew the lifting capacity of a stock Carver 4207 davit mounted on the
aft deck hard top?
Any suggestions on good size of rigid (RIB) for the hardtop?

I'm brand new to the forum (this will be my first post).
I just bought a 1987 4207 with a davit. The capacity on the davit info plate states 660 lbs is the maximum capacity.
The boat came with a 10' Carbie dinghy with a 15 hp Yamaha. The dinghy was stored on the hard top. This particular davit definitely needs some work. Noisy as all heck and was barely able to lift the Caribe with motor off the hard top to the water.
