Not really a boating question....seems like the most common things on land become complicated on a boat.
Our 350 Mariner has a built-in Black and Decker 12 cup Spacemaker coffee maker above/behind the sink. Doesn't work right even after cleaning (only can brew half pot), want to replace it. So how does a person get the thing out without busting up plastic? There are no screws/bolts through to the cabinet above. It seems like would have to disassemble the cabinet to get at the space above the coffee maker. Cannot find any instructions on internet about how this apparent old model Space Maker is fastened to the cabinet. Do I have to cut/break plastic and bring out the hammer?!
Second issue is then to find something that will fit in in the opening, which is 13in wide and 10.5in tall. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: Built-in Coffee Maker replacement
front is bigger than the hole so I would conclude that the unit must come out towards you. It also has legs, suggesting that it is a table model pushed into that hole.
so I would search for a screw inside the unit that holds it in place. Logically in the bottom or top. Under that black pad or inside the door somewhere.

Agree with Phrancus. Somebody propped that table counter unit into the cutout opening. It has to be fastened somehow. How about that lonely screw in the upper left corner of your pic? Is it holding anything?

That looks wedged in there. I'd just pull harder. That's not the OEM coffee maker.

Any access to rear ? Through something? Oh sorry you mentioned that. Welcome to another one of the mysteries in boating.

IF you get it out of there, I saw a picture from another Carver that mounted a paper towel holder in there, with a small basket underneath.

Re: Built-in Coffee Maker replacement
Hello,
This is off your topic and apologize, but I was seeking an answer to the salon table dropping down for the cushions to fit and we have the same Carver 350. Can you provide any help with how the table lowers enough to fit into the edges of the seat frame so I can place the designated cushions down? Logically, it looks like I just loosen the screw that adjust the height of the table and then drop it down, but when I do this the table doesn't go down far enough to seat in the correct location. Another member said he removes the shaft of table all together, but mine is mounted to underside of table which doesn't seem to be the answer. Sorry to hijack your thread, but when I saw we had the same boat, I couldn't resist.
Any help would be appreciated and good luck with the coffee maker issue. Luckily mind still works, but I'll pay attention to the outcome of your issue for future use.
Thanks
