transporting a carver 32 mariner

I live in the Portland Oregon area (Vancouver Wa). There is a 32 Mariner I am interested in up north near Seattle. Does anyone have experience with shipping by lo boy truck one of these ? With taking the windshield off can it be done ? The boats were delivered initially all over the country so there must be someone who knows the height and about how this was done. I would like to purchase one. If anyone has info please let me know mrheenan@comcast.net

What year is the boat? You shouldn't have much a problem shipping it, as you say they were all shipped from Carver to begin with! Some you might have to remove the radar arch (if it has one) and probably the props, but those are typical things for a lot of boats that get shipped. I'll bet there are a lot of transport places in or around Seattle that have shipped one before.

Back in 1996 I transported a 1988 32 Mariner from Wisconsin to Florida. I was able to do it by removing the windscreen and an Edson radar tower I had previously installed. It took them 5 days to get there but she arrived in great shape. That was my first Carver and I just purchased my 4th. Go for it.

I'm 66 now and started with the 1988 32 Mariner as my second boat in 1994 for $58,000.  Enjoyed it in Lake Michigan for 3 years then moved it to Florida.  It's a very easy boat to get around on and runs well on the 350cid Mercury v-drives.  It was my first boat with twin inboards and I loved how it handled.  I later sold it to get a 1993 350 Aft Cabin with 454cid Crusaders.  2 years ago I picked up a 1993 390 Cockpit Motoryacht with Cummins 6BT diesels.  I put on 400 hours in 2 years and just purchased a 1996 500 Cockpit Motoryacht which I am in the process of moving from Charleston SC to Sarasota.  The 390 is now on the market.

The 32 Mariners are low profile when it comes to bridge style boats, thanks to the ability of dropping the bimini bows down below the windshield level. Should be easy to find a transporter. Mariners got a lot harder to transport in 98 when the radar arch was added, and the beam was expanded. Carver shipped many models all over the states, but had the luxury of leaving high profile structure off, like the entire bridge assembly, and then attached at delivery point. Should not have to take the widshield off a Mariner. Is cruising it down the coast an option? Good luck. 8-) er
