I have a 1987 4207 with a built in trash compactor in the galley, under the cabinet next to the fridge that I never use, neither did the previous owner. Not sure if it even works, but it’s nasty looking.
I decided to removed it and put in a nice new wine cooler. The removal did not go well. I can’t see how it’s attached to the floor. No obvious screws/bolts holding it in place. But it’s solid. I ended up cutting it off near the base and removing the top part with the motor and mechanisms…which was unbelievably heavy.
The base is now easily accessible but I still don’t see how it’s attached.
Has anyone removed one of these beasts?
Thanks!

Re: Removing a trash compactor
I think you can reach the underside fasteners from the engine room.
Thanks

Re: Removing a trash compactor
I looked briefly and didn’t think I could get to it through the fire shield materials. But worth another look.
Thanks!
