Hello everyone, hope all is good!
Well, it happen! We had an intruder come on our boat last Sunday 5:30am, caught it on camera. Filed a police report.
Now I want to replace the door handles with locking ones. Anyone have any suggestions or have done it? Found some that might work from boat outfitters but figured I would ask here first
Here is my current set up
Thanks all
Kuya!

I have the same locks and doors.
If they are comimg in those locks and doors will not stop a kick.
If you put a lock on there and they kick thru the repairs will couse major problems replacing things to make them whole again.
Even if insurance covers it the parts willl be difficult to have custom made. My marina has the same problem.
Hopefully your cabin door is more robust.
I feel terrible putting this reality in print.

You might look into some motion-sensing lights to discourage the common thief. Won't stop someone who's determined, but others will look for easier targets.

Years back we had this problem at a marina.....I put motion sensor stuff in, but I can say in my opinion the little flashing led that was installed next to the door was maybe the best. You could see it from the dock, maybe enough to keep the honest folk out. I know there are cameras now and even that doesn't seem to work.
If they want in I don't believe any of these marine doors we have are much of a deterrent, just more damage that is hard to restore to the original function later.
To lock or not to lock has been an endless debate.

FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

I have always left my boat unlocked. Yes, it’s always been in a fairly secured marina and close to the entrance gate with more activity, but my thought has always been that I keep nothing of any great value (or not easily replaced) inside that would be worth more than the cost and headache of trying to fix or replace custom doors and hardware that haven’t been made in 20yrs.

I have a blink camera on my boat during the NJ season but I shut it off during the winter because the wifi is $85/month.
I will install one of those motion sensing lights when I go there to finish winterizing as the boat is in the water for the winter.
The marina is like a ghost town this time of year.
