Lower Unit Gear Oil


I acquired a dinghy for our boat last season. This will be the first year I am doing spring maintenance on the outboard motor. It is a Mercury 9.9 two stroke.
Our last boat had Mercruiser bravo 3 out drives and I used Quicksilver High Performance Gear oil in the lower units. Mercury's website recommends Quicksilver Premium Gear OIl 80W90 for outboards under 75 hp. I think the other stuff is 90. I have got a bunch left over from the other boat. Is it OK to use it?
