Post Removing Swim Platform

I want to remove the swim platform from my 1989 Carver 3807. My problem is access to the nuts inside the boat. I can access a couple through the bed platform but do not see any obvious access points elsewhere. Will I have to cut access spots through the aft wall? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Post Access to AC unit on 3297

Hello - I just bought a 1986 Mariner 3297. It has an AC unit under the galley counter on the port side. It’s winter in Buffalo so the boat is still shrink wrapped. I’ve been on it a few times to get ahead on some cleaning. Wondering how to access the AC unit. I can see the top of it through the cabinet under the galley sink but how do you really get acces? Wondering if a previous owner covered an access panel on the dinette seat back with carpet?

Post ProMariner Combi Inverter Chargers

Question for the board.

I am assessing installing an inverter.

I began by looking at the ProMariner Combi Inverter which Viper had mentioned was ignition protected in another post. I already have a 60amp Charger which charges the two engine batteries and the one house battery with a three way isolator involved. (I realize I will need to come up with more battery power for the house.)

I would rather install an ignition protected inverter (not a Combi) below deck in the gas engine compartment, but t ...

Post Aft Camera

I have a camera in the cabin, one in the engine room (both indoor rated), and there apparently was one mounted on the hard top facing aft as a back up camera (assume) which is missing. Ive seen other Carver Boats with the same camera and was wondering if this was an option and if someone could tell me what the camera model is?

Thx.

Post 466 Telephone Intercom Ops

Our new-to-us 2001 466 did not come with any Carver OEM manuals. We'd appreciate input on how the telephone intercom works. I presume it's some sort of ring-down system.

Thanks in advance!!!

Post Port Engine Overheating

Greetings,

Bought my first boat!!! Very excited and want to learn to do my own repairs, if at all possible. Have a 1997 350 Mariner with a 2 Crusader 350 XL engines. Starboard engine temp is perfect and port engine overheats when over 2200. Had a mechanic come in fill coolant check hoses and replaced both engine's impellers thinking that would do the trick. It's a little better but still overheats and white smoke emits from port engine. I'm thinking of trying Sea Flush with Barnacle buster ...

Post Rear Aux. Tank in 355/356 Carver AC/MY

Has anyone tackled the removal and replacement of the rear Aux. Fuel tank on the Carver 355/356 AC/MY. I know Viper says cut the swim platform open and do the R&R that way, was wondering if anyone tackled getting out thru the aft cabin head panel? Elliott, had posted some pictures from back in there and I wondered if Elliott thought it would be possible to tackle the R&R of the Aux. tank from there? My neighbor's 2001 356 aux tank let go this winter and our 1998 355 is showing the signs ...

Post Hiding tv cable

I have a 1997 Carver 355. I use a tailgater to receive satellite signal and place on roof off of flybridge. My problem is I have been attempting to run cable into the arch down to below deck and up to entertainment center to Tv. I also plan on installing windlass this spring and need to route cable from windlass to flybridge helm...any secret to hiding these cables? Thanks for the help!

Post 1995 370 aft cabin

I am looking at this model to use on Lake Ontario. Can anyone share what hull construction standards were for this model in 1995? Where was balsa used? Hull thickness? Deadrise? Any history of delamination? Hull flexing? Core saturation? Thanks.
