Post Kohler 7.3e Generator Exhaust

I am new to Carver boats and have a rookie question. Does the Kohler 7.3e generator's exhaust exit underwater or out a port side opening. I just purchased the boat and had not used the generator until we lost power at our yacht club Saturday evening. After checking the thru-hull seacock and strainer, I started the generator and expected to see water exiting an exhaust port, but there was no water, so I shutdown generator. Today I checked strainer again and the impeller. Both were good. Any ...

Post Frost In Fridge

How often do you guys need to defrost your fridge? Ours seems to last about 6 weeks or so and becomes due. When I say due, I am talking about 1/2" thick in the worst area. The fridge is packed pretty tight all season long so maybe normal to frost up more? All the seals seem to be fine but the frequency seems too frequent if you ask me. The fridge on the bridge lasts all summer however there are only drinks in that one and does not get opened for very long and not that frequently.

Post Latch repair for Exterior Compartment Doors

The latches for the compartments fail to return to center which causes the compartment doors to fly open when underway. I believe there was some sort of elastomer that had degraded over time. The interior compartments use the same latch mechanism and they function correctly.

Has anyone found a suitable method of repair? I'll probably cut some small pieces of closed cell foam or silicone to stick in them.

Post Sagging Fridge Door

I have a Norcold and the freezer door sagged and needed a slight nudge to make sure it closed properly. Occasionally it would open slightly, unnoticed, if the bottom main door was closed quickly.

I searched for solutions and most advice was to install washers on the hinge bolts to raise the door. In my opinion, this just raises a sagging door. The door still droops on the opening edge, it's just higher.

Instead I placed a spacer on the upper hinge mounting bracket at the inside bolt hole, NOT o ...

Post 3608 Fuel Gauge Not Reading

The fuel quantity will not register when the switch is pressed for one tank on our lower helm. Both gauges work fine on the upper helm. I looked under the panel and do not see any missing wires. I have not been able to find a wiring diagram for the circuit. We do not use the lower helm, but it bugs me that it does not work.

Any trouble shooting suggestions?

Post “Sold” Jabsco sensor-max 17 water pump

I took this off of a 2006 Carver 33 SS and rebuilt it. Sold the boat in 2020 and have had it sitting in conditioned space since. I tried the pump two days ago, and it pumps water with no leaks. The connectors are also with the pump. I was going to throw away, but decided to see if anyone here could use it. Will let it go for what it costs to ship to you. Part is in East Tennessee. If you want it PM me.

Post Really Cheap Dingy Fenders

These are available at Walmart for $3.48 CAD. Knee pads in the gardening section. Made of closed cell foam so they will not take on water. Compact and easy to store. Used a ball bungee to attach to the handles of the dinghy. Can't go wrong for the price.

Post halogen light replacement

I want to switch to LED bulbs. My current bulbs are horizonal in the fixture and so must be short enough to fit. Can anyone suggest the correct bulb with the two pin insertion?

Post Carver 370 voyager 1993 fridge replacement

Good morning
I am new and I have just bought a 1993 Carver 370 Voyager.
I would like to change the fridges which are double doors side by side.
After several searches on the internet I can't find a manufacturer who offers a fridge in the size of the caver 370. Does anyone have a manufacturer's name or someone in the same situation as me?
:help:
