Do it right...I have always learnt that trying to do it the easy way or cheap way doesn't pay off in the end.

Is it possible that the factory wiring was installed in the railing there, just not used.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

If the breaker in fact has wiring on it, it would be my guess that that wiring may just run up to the bridge panel where the spot light control would have been installed. So I would pull the DC panel to see if in fact wires are on this spot light breaker, then trace them out, checking the bridge panel behind the front bridge seat. If it leave there I too would guess the wiring should be in the rode locker. Mounting could be on the bow pulpit or the bow rail. Mike

That begs the question, what is the right way? Why would using a handheld be wrong?

I have no spotlight breaker at all.
