2005 Carver 44 MY

Post by yardley99 »

Hi all

Just closed on a 2005 Carver 44MY ES and just had a few questions, As you can imagine, i looked at many boats and once I narrowed my search I looked into everything Carver. I have some questions about the boat I purchased and others of the same year and what I thought was the same model. The first level you walk up to, has a bump out and a built in seat, some do not?? As you enter the cabin, my flat screen is hanging up above the AC and DC breaker panels on the left with the Stereo and DVD controls to its right. Other models have the TV on the right as you walk in with the DVD and Stereo controls above??? Our boat had three bilge pumps, forward, mid, and aft but the Carver Manuel says there are only two, forward and aft?? None of this of course are complainants or problems, just trying to figure out what specific model we have.Thank You

I don't have one of these, but did work for a Carver dealer for many years. On the 396 and 444 Motor Yachts (cabins are the same), there were two different interior layouts. One was the standard layout where the galley was more isolated from the salon and the Extended Salon version which had the galley basically in the same location but didn't have the counter portion that protruded into the salon area. It gave more seating as well. I don't remember how the TV and such were as the galley was the main selling difference. As far as bilge pumps, there would be three from the factory on a Carver aft cabin...one in the fwd bilge, one in the engine bilge and one in the aft cabin bilge. It may be that one would be automatic only...no switch at the dash.

The bump out on the aft deck came in 2005. It provided additional cockpit space since your backside was positioned in the bump out section. Prior to that, the aft deck seating was created by loose furniture. You also lost the hawse pipe on either side of the aft deck when they made the change. The TV was moved sometime after the 2004 model year.
