Re: NEXUS Card
I would recommend renewing the passport though... they are the 'gold' standard for travel and much much easier to renew than re-apply.

Re: NEXUS Card
Have you considered a enhance Michigan drivers license? It allows travel to Canada. My wife has one and it works great.

I thought about it but from what I have been told by both the US and Canadian border patrol the NEXUS card is the best thing to have as a boater when boating between the two countries. It's also good when crossing the border on land via bridge or tunnel. It just makes it easier as a boater to travel between countries.

Re: NEXUS Card
The one downside with NEXUS is they become almost useless unless ALL the people on the boat have one. If they do, then you can call up to 4 hours prior to arriving and get cleared.

dsolo wrote:Source of the post Your application for the NEXUS required either a passport or enhance driver license number. If you let the passport expire you must update your NEXUS record. You will need one of the two to keep your NEXUS valid. Rules for traveling to and from Canada require one of the two.
I guess I will have to renew my passport too.
