Boat listing to port
466 Carver 2002
Tends to list to port 3 to 4 inches
Gas tanks equal and we think general belongings balanced
Any ideas on what might cause this?

Re: Boat listing to port
Don't know your layout, but where's the generator tank and is it full? Are the holding tanks on the centerline, if not, maybe you need to fill or empty depending on what side they are?
How much beer do you have in the fridge? Maybe not enough? Tools? Extra batteries?
I've seen these boats and they generally sit level, so it must be something you have control over.

Re: Boat listing to port
I agree With Fred. I've never seen any 466 list, let alone that much. Three to four inches is quite a lot for a heavy boat like that. Even if things that you put on weren't balanced, it shouldn't list like that. I would check your fuel tanks...could be the gauge saying it's full, but it actually isn't. If you have selector valves, you could be drawing off of one tank and not the other. The only way to make sure both tanks are at the same level is to completely fill them. Then you'll know if it's the tanks, and if your gauges are working properly.

Re: Boat listing to port
Hi I have a 2001 466 with the same problem. Mine lists probably 2-3 inches to the port.
It lists a bit more when I have the tender on the back because the motor is on port side.
But other than that there's no reason why it lists so much but it does - fuel and everything else not way out of balance.
I was suggested to get counter-weights - lead pellets but I don't know.

Hope you both don't have soaked core on one side.
Thanks

Generator on centerline, what do I check to see if full?
when boat was purchased did not receive any manuals. Have found an owners guide but not all things in boat are in manual. Needless to say the beer fridge is never full!!
Holding tanks centre to starboard.
Freshwater centre to starboard
Another thing, grey water does not have a deck plate for removal. does this mean it goes out of the boat automatically? Yet there is a grey water holding tank also. Owners book very vague
Thanks for any help!

Re: Boat listing to port
If you goggle "Report from the bilge", you will see a blog from a captain that bought a 506 and had the same problem. The 506 is not much different than the 466. It turned out it was a design flaw and he had lead bars installed to offset the list. My 506 however, doesn't list.

Wouldn't that have shown up on the survey?

Re: Boat listing to port
The coring is above the water line, not below it. It is solid glass below the water line.
