You can see I temporarily wired in one of these while doing the install - one cannot be without tunes:

I had to pop some new holes in the bulkhead between the cabin and the engine bay for the battery cables to pass, you can see the 1/0 battery cables are doubled for + and -

These holes are alongside an existing hole that was never sealed from factory (I assume) - I was going to use duct seal to plug them but could use silicone - thoughts?

The doubled up cables are a nuisance - I had intended to use the lugs 'back to back' but because I'm using power lugs instead of light battery lugs they didn't want to fit that way so I ended up with this crap:

In retrospect maybe should have just gone single 4/0?

I was getting concerned because that unit is not rated for installation in a gasoline engine bay. Technically, neither is the fuse in the picture. Have you confirmed the minimum wire gauge for the length of the circuit at the inverter's max load? I see you're using doubled up 1/0 wire. Is this correct?

Battery monitor now lives where the old useless Volt meter used to be (Batt 1/Batt2 switch now defunct - just a hole filler at the mo)

Just a rant about this stupid thing - if the most important range of a battery bank is from 10 volts to 15 volts, why did they make the gauge markings/graduations go down to zero and make more than 50% of the meter useless?

That spot you have for the inverter.....will it have some air movement to cool the inverter ?

That gage looks like it may have been a replacement at some point.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

I have spoken to folks who assured me that dual 1/0 will be more than sufficient and indeed it does match what Victron has in their specifications. I hope that it is right - I will get a marine electrician to bless the install after it is fully complete.

Yes, the area down there is quite frosty as the un-insulated air conditioning duct routes through that wall and keeps that low cabinet nicely chilled. I will also install louvered doors do promote airflow :approve:

I can assure you it is bone stock along with the other 6 analog meters
