Hello, I have the Volvo D6 Diesels. I have been told that I should replace the plastic pulleys that came factory because they are wearing and the replacements are metal not plastic. Just thought I would see if anybody has changed theirs out and the difficulty of the job.
Thanks

I haven't heard this, but I'm not "in the know" any longer.

If I had plastic pulleys they would be gone a long time ago. That's crazy - plastic pulleys.
Thanks

I also have never heard of plastic pulleys - especially on a HD diesel application such as the D6. Sounds like a myth to me.

I know that Mercruiser used plastic pulleys on their V8 engines, but issued a service bulletin for their replacement to steel, along with a different belt. Thankfully, mine are steel already

Doing a little more homework and research, it is actually the belt tensioners that are plastic. Still recommended to be changed out because they start to wear. Still not sure why they (Volvo) would use plastic.
