Hello All
Very new to Power Cruisers. Was a sailor for many years
Now I moved away from the pacific seemed more appropriate to have a motor cruiser.
Just purchased an older 1986 32aft cabin.
Looking for any tips or tricks particularly in engine/boat control. 2 engines is completely new to me. After all I only ever started my sailboat engine to get out the slip and used about 10 gallons a season !!!

Welcome aboard. Two engines make things easy. When in the harbor, do not use your rudder, use the transmissions for turning, docking, etc.
Once you get that worked out, read up on how the crab a boat. And practice.
Out on the water, of course use the rudder. But also keep the engines synched at the same rpm. If your boat doesn't have an engine synchronizer gage, you should install one.
Thanks

Welcome aboard!! There are several current (and a few former) owners of 3007's on here. That's a nice boat! Post up some pictures when you get a chance!

Welcome aboard!! The 32aft's are pretty nice boats too! Posts up some pics!!

One thing I tell "new to twins" folks is to imagine using the shift levers as if you're standing behind someone and have your hands on their shoulders. If you want them to move or turn, you have to push or pull their shoulders. Think of how they react when you do this and you have a good impression of how your boat would react when using the shifters. Just make sure your wheel is centered when you first start out. After you get the hang of it like that, you can also start using the wheel and rudders and throttles for more advanced handling. Of course all this applies just to the low speed maneuvering. As Waybomb says, when cruising just make sure the engines are synced and just use the wheel for steering.

Thank you for the advice so far. Someone else told me to look at the levers for the transmission. They are curved toward each other which also reflects which way the boat will go in forward or reverse. I found that tip useful.
I will send pics soon

Loopchemist, welcome aboard! Don’t let twins intimidate you. One I got used to twins, I vowed I’d never have a single again. Twins are so much more
Maneuverable than a single, unless…the single has thrusters.
