cooling issue

Hello everyone. Glad to be here. I truly appreciate it if someone could help me with my boat's cooling issue.
I have a 2005 Carver 36 Mariner with two 5.7 liter Crusader engines. Starboard engine's cooling system has air in it that is causing over heat!! I would like to bleed the air out but do not know how to do it! Please help me out and let me know what the procedure is for bleeding out the air from the system. If you know of any videos or picture please send them to me. I can not thank you enough.

And second... are you sure you have good impellers in the raw water pumps?

Welcome aboard!
Somebody with more experience than me can help with the crusaders. I've heard of this issue on these engines.
On a couple of my cars, with separate cooling and intercooling systems, I must use a vacuum system to fill them. That may or may not be the answer for this.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I have brand new impeller on both engines. Water flow from both exhausts are excellent.

I had this problem on the same engine two years ago. I asked a mechanic to repair it. He did bleed the air out, but he made sure that I was not present while bleeding the system. He just showed up without me and took care of the problem When I asked him why he did not call me before showing up, he just said, it was a last minute cancellation by another customer so he decided to just come by and fix the problem. I GUESS, IT IS CALLED JOB SECURITY!! Anyway, I am definingly sure I have air in the cooling system.

Those engines are outfitted with a "degas bottle" (which looks like an overflow tank) that's supposed to prevent air pockets from forming. How full is the degas bottle? (when cold it should be at or only slightly above the fill mark).

The one thing you can try is to drain the degas bottle where there's only a little antifreeze in the bottom (maybe 1/2 or 3/4") and use a wet/dry vac to apply vacuum to where the cap is. If the antifreeze disappears, then add some to bring it back to 1/2-3/4" and use the vac again. Keep doing that until the antifreeze stays at the same level. Then you can refill to the proper level (only up to the add mark!) and put the cap back on and see if that resolved the problem.

Hello everyone,
I lifted the degas bottle up with the cap removed. started the engine and let it warmup. As soon as the antifreeze started to boil and pour out of the degas bottle, lots of air bubbles started to be released as well. Within 5 minutes all the air was out and the antifreeze level was stabilized. I just added some more antifreeze to bring it to the proper level and I was all done. Ran the engine for 15 minutes the other day and everything seems working fine.
