Does anyone know if the cummins 450 diesels will continue to run if battery power is cut off.
As I sort through some battery issues I'm wondering what would happen if I lost dc power while engines are running. I know diesels are unlike gas engines, however would loss of power shut off fuel supply automatically or something else that would kill the engines?
Appreciate assistance with this.
Thanks

Would have to check but I suspect that vintage would have have some sort of electronic control system. If that's the case, power is needed for sure.

Re: Cummins 450 diamond series
If you have 6cta 450 diamond they will run without dc power - you will need to actuate the fuel shutoff solenoid to stop the flow of fuel to shut them down.
If however you have electric controls - that were used in the early 2000 +/- they require power
