1977 Carver 2276 - items

Post by sdsurf »

Good Morning

I have a 1977 Carver 2276 in great condition but missing a few items. It has two sinks, one in the Galley and one in the head. I am missing both water tanks for those. Any idea of what they would be or are spec'd? If not original, what would work...
I also notice two optional seats on either side of the motor. Same question, what was there originally (spec'd) or what might work now? They would need to be mounted tot he transom or somehow removable for storage/access below in the deck

Have you spent some time googling your boat and looking at other images and info?. I know there were some manuals/brochures online too that may help

I doubt there would have been separate tanks for each sink. Generally there is one tank serving either or both. Once you locate where that tank was located, you can measure to accommodate installation and angle to install. It is probably something in the 15 to 22 gallon range. Might be a good idea to find out why the original tank was removed. If failure caused by freezing, then the lines may need an inspection for leaks. Good luck! 8-) er

I thought that i had sent a reply yesterday, but it is not showing up. Anyway, I have owned a Carver 2276 for the past 49 years, having purchased it new in 1976. If you're still searching for answers to your questions, reply to this post and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability.

At this point, you should probably think about how you'd LIKE to have the boat configured, rather than trying to return it to factory original. One good place to buy replacement tanks is greatlakesskipper. They have a lot of "excess stock" or discontinued items from boat manufacturers and you could find one that you could install in a spot that would be easy for you to maintain, and with a size that suits your expected use of the boat.
