See, that's what I like about this forum, you learn something new every day!

Re: Hour gauges
Hi there! I know this is an old thread but thought I’d share a recent experience. We had a pretty big storm a couple weeks ago and the helm on my 380 Santego got drenched. The fuses for my ignition got wet. While the boat would still start and all seemed fine, it appears the waterlogged fuses allowed a complete circuit. Therefore, my hour meters were clicking along even with the ignition in the off position.

I wonder if it is possible on your boat to shut down ( isolate ) the bridge power when you leave it. We always left all the boat circuits off except for the fridge.Erikpmn wrote:QR_BBPOST Hi there! FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: Hour gauges
My hour gauges which are a small LCD display above the digital RPM gauge are almost unreadable at both helms as the LCDs are failing. Interestingly though, when I plugged in the YDES gateway I just installed to get data out of the EDC there was a discrepancy in the hour meeting readings. On the stbd engine I was getting a reading of about 1900 hrs through the EDC. The gauge at the helm was showing 2700 hrs which is about the same as the port engine and should be correct based on historical records. The EDC records hours of actual engine operation while the helm gauge records hours that the ignition key is turned on. On the port engine there is a discrepancy of about 30 hrs (over 23 years). So the only thing this could mean is that the EDC was changed out at that time although I have no records from the first 9 years of the boat's life.

Re: Hour gauges
Looking forward to hear what people think about your question. I have a very similar issue with my 2004 360 Mariner. Dash meters shows both engines virtually identical (572 Port/574 Stbd) while the ecm showed a big difference (565 Port/178 Stbd). The engines are both original with serial numbers very close to each other,
