I saw some other posts addressing the issue just experienced. Looks like people were replacing sensors and random parts. Maybe this will save someone some time. It wont save much money because a new board is about $300.
We were out last week and the genny shut off after about 2 hours run time. I thought it had most likely over heated as the impeller most likely was never changed, 110 hrs total run time.
So I bought an impeller, fuel filter and oil filter. changed all this weekend, started up and ran about 30 minutes and shut off again.
Let it sit a bit and tried again. It tried to start but would shut down as soon as the start switch was released. Then it didn't even try to start.
Ok time to actually dig in and figure it out.
Spark, check.
Compression, check.
Fuel, ???
It seems the power to the fuel pump was only 7 volts coming from the control board relay with a good 13 volts coming into the board. Ran power direct to the fuel pump, it starts and runs fine.
Time for a new control board.
