Summer Maintenance on 3227
Summer Splashy Lady maintenance time! Engines got new coil, wires, plugs, rebuilt the Q-jet carb (definitely a pain!), oil change, new fuel filters/separators, and a new fuel sender for the starboard tank. Both engines purr like a Tomcat in a dairy now...

When you did your q-jets, did you have to do the plug in the bottom (drill/tap/seal)?

Re: Summer Maintenance on 3227
I think you mean the metering jet pots - you need to fix them if they are leaking or if there is evidence of corrosion. But if the jets are OK and they don't leak, you don't need to drill out the lead seals and epoxy back the bottom. My Q-jets were in pretty good shape - one had a float problem - but they were not lost causes like those from a junkyard or neglected engine.
