Post Gas tank replacement 1988’ 3807

So I am going to replace my port side gas saddle tank. My plan is to move the engine and transmission and set it over the stbd engine. It looks like the tank sits about 5 inches lower than the stringer in somewhat of a fiberglass pan. If I disconnect wiring and remove the wiring trough on the underside of the salon floor, above the tank, it might give a couple inches of clearance once the tank is lifted. Has anyone ever removed a tank without cutting it? That’s not an option with a gas tank. Ju ...

Post New member hello

Greetings boaters.

Very pleased at this stage in boating life to acquire a beautiful Carver 355 with low hour Crusaders. Prior owners had her for 17 years. I’m just updating things and bring her back to sparkle!

It has amazing space and accommodations. Just had rudders dropped & repacked , serviced PPS shaft sea ...

Post waring light identification

Howdy all, I have a 2004 Carver 564CPMY that I just picked up a few weeks ago. It has the Volvo D12 diesels with the diagnostic screen on the dash for each engine. The started went bad the day I picked up the boat, but it did start and ran 2 or 3 times before it went bad and everything ran fine. The mechanic replaced the starter last week and I am just getting to the boat today and this warring light is on. The problem is I have no clue what it mean. I have the carver manual but not the vo ...

Post Canvas off

SInce we are looking at 70 degrees this weekend, I am heading down to remove the canvas and bimini. The yard usually removes it when they shrink wrap, but they do not handle with care. I have $12,000.00 worth of new canvas, and done want it hurt. Now, not sure of when they are shrink wrapping. SO, removing it after wiping with water to get dust off, then dry, then home for a coast of eisenglass polish. As for the boat being exposed….lWIll it help any if I cover the bridge console and seats with ...

Post New Caver - where to put the name

hey, I purchased a Carver 564 cockpit yacht a few weeks ago and can not figure out where to put the name and hailing port. The back of the boat has built in dock boxes, so I think I may have to go with very small lettering. Does anyone have this type of vessel and can shoot me a picture of the transom?

Post Water levels where you boat !!

Just watching another interesting report on water levels. Seems the great Miss has dropped a considerable amount and I have seen reports from lake Tahoe, Mead and others.

How and are these levels affecting your boating, I know on the great lakes we have had quite the fluctuations over the years.

Post SF bay area new Carver Owner

Greetings!

I now own a 1986 Carver Santa Cruz 2667 w/ the Mercruiser 260 and Alpha 1 gen 1 Outdrive.

I'm a master mechanic who loves fishing the California coast, and am currently getting my Carver in "ship shape" before it's maiden voyage. Previous owner seemed a little "adventurous" and removed the upper flybridge!! I actually think it'll be worthwhile to use the flat roof for fishing things...

Couple things that I'm currently fixing:

--Trim/tilt leak

--took apart, discovered cracked reservoir, ...

Post The Boating Season That Wasn't

Last fall I sold my Carver. To be honest with the high cost of fuel I just wasn't using the boat. I launched in May motored over to my dock. Never took the boat out once. In October I motored over to the haul out dock and had the boat hauled for the winter. I then let it be known the boat was for sale. I ended up selling it.

January of 2022 I decide that I still want to boat so I went to a local dealer. I found a boat I liked so I worked up a deal. I traded in my jetski and i bought a 2022 Tahoe ...
