Post Cruising Range Question

I am a rookie boat owner with a Chaparral Signature 30 and we are having a blast. My ultimate goal is to retire as a live aboard and travel. I am very interested in the Carver 405 and 444. I am comparing these to trawlers like a Mainship 430. Now it looks to me that a Carver 405 or 444 is more of a coastal cruiser.

So my question is, even if I were to add a custom 100 gallon fuel cell, what is the potential range non stop with a diesel set up? Preferably twin Cummins. I know there are variables b ...

Post 3300 hours on TAMD 74s

I am looking for our next boat which we have decided will be a 2002 or so 570 Voyager. We are considering looking at one in Seattle which is a nice looking and well appointed boat but has 3300 hrs on the TAMD 74 engines. I just sold my 06 Searay 44DB with Cummins QSCs with 400 hrs on them of which I put 300 on. I slept well at night not expecting large expenses due to engine wear. I am well aware of the concept that low hours are not automatically a good thing as any large equipment needs to be ...

Post Trend door parts

I have been trying to order the bottom rollers for my “Trend” salon door and unable to get the manufacturer to respond. They are in GB. Does anybody know a source for the rollers? 2004 560 Carver Voyager.

Post Introducing myself

My wife and I have been boaters since 1990. Owned 4 other boats until our most recent purchase of a Carver 374. A big jump up from our 24' bayliner. Closed on the boat in March and the border closed that weekend. It took until last weekend to get our boat from Canada into Blaine Wa. Quite the ordeal. Plan on taking our boat home to Alaska in the Spring, hopefully without COVID RESTRICTIONS. Already planning on several upgrades. Can't wait for warmer weather

Post Bulk head fabric covering

Has anyone replaced or reinstalled the fabric covering the bulkhead. Ours was loose and the insulation behind it had come off and fell to the bottom of the fabric. I peeled it off but I’m not sure what I should use for a insulation if any, prior to reinstalling the fabric, any ideas?

Post 356 Breaker Cover help

When I bought my 356, one of the sliding mirror panels was removed. I tried reinstalling it by putting the top in first and trying to lift it and sliding the bottom in like you normally would do on a sliding panel but it would not go up high enough to do that. Does any one have an idea on how to reinstall it.

Hi! I'm a brand new owner and I mean brand new, we don't have possession yet and its our first boat! We plan to live aboard during the summer months on Lake Michigan. What I need to know are the dimensions of the forward cabin mattress. I am wondering if I can just replace it with a standard queen or if I will need to special make something. The boat is a 2018 C37 Coupe. Thanks for any help!

Post Tranny fluid in the bilge of my 2000 380 Santego

I have tranny fluid leaking into the bilge from both v-drives. I'm not sure where it's coming from, but was just wondering if I can get some good tips on what I can do/check myself before I have to pay a mechanic big $$$ to fix them. Thanks in advance and cheers!
