Post Power Central

To some this would not fly. However, it is only myself and the bride. SO, I have my battery charger status and also condition and aux aft bilge pump mounted on teh side of teh steps coming up from teh aft cabin to the salon. I can look at it easily to see what is going on. Other side has the inverter and the water capacity gauge.

Post 1988 Santego - Foam Core of "Skeg" Saturated

My boat was on the hard all last year due to a soft spot that developed directly under the second aft most block. The fiberglass basically delaminated in this location and pouched out with the weight of the boat.

Some holes were drilled last year in an effort to dry the fiberglass over the winter. Not enough, evidently.

This year, we've ground down the surface and it remains wet. A moisture meter was borrowed from one of the surveyors in the yard and the fiberglass was deemed still too w ...

Post Hera E1 Halogen Light cover rings

My 2001 396 Aft Cabin has Hera E1 lights though-out.... about 30 of them. Half the cover rings are crack, missing the locking teeth, etc. I looked for new rings and came up with nothing. Looks like they were discontinued in favor the their LED series back in 2015. I have already switched from the halogen bulbs to LEDs but would like to replace the rings. Has anyone found a solution? Other rings that may fit?, 3D print? I am open to ideas, and don't really want to spend the $50-$100 per fi ...

Post ‘79 Mariner 28 on Lake Ontario!

Picked up this 1979 Mariner 28 last fall and I’m finally in my slip in Irondequoit Bay (Lake Ontario) just outside of Rochester NY. I spent most of my years with one of Crestliners last closed bow boats, a Sabre, but I finally decided to find something my family can spend
the nights on. For its age the boat is in remarkable condition and has very few problems. Spent the winter replacing cracked railing bases (what a pain), refinishing teak and building new teak bulkhead walls on the back of the ...

With those with this model thruster....what material are your drive pins made of? I am speaking of the shear pins that are at the base of the props. Thanks in advance.

Post Need prop specs

I have a 1989 Carver 3207 (aft cabin). In loading it onto a trailer with a stiff beam wind I managed to chew up the starboard prop, which I now need to replace. It's an 18" DynaQuad 4-blade bronze prop (mfg part number DQ4B18B). I know the shaft size and the rotation but I need to know the pitch before I can order a new one. It hit the water before I could check the numbering on the port prop, and at ~$1,000 I'm not prepared replace them both so that they match! :-O

Please advise if you know th ...

Post 1989 3207 Aft Cabin seawater pump inlet thru hull valve

1989 3207 Aft cabin twin 5.7 Mercs Port seawater pump inlet.

1. Please see attached photo of port engine, the red handle thru hull connection. Is this the inlet for the seawater pump?

2. The port engine turns over clockwise when looking from aft to forward. Is this (the port engine) right hand or left hand turning.
Thank you for the help...

Post Change Gear Oil in IPS 500 Drive Unit

As the subject states, I am getting close to time to change the drive oil.

It was done while the boat was out for hauling and bottom paint the last time so that was easy enough out of the water.

The manual states that you can change in the water with a pump and adapter fitting.

Question is - what adapter fitting and pump do I need to purchase. I can't find anything on the web or in the manual that has a part number or any details.

I hate to pay to pull the boat along with the 30 mile run each way t ...
