Hi, My name is Tom and I'm a Diver... just got a Carver Santa Cruz 2566 from 1977. looking to turn it into a Dive Boat.
anyone with past experience in doing such a thing would be of great assistance to me.
I'm looking at trimming out the stern and adding a dive platform. I'm looking for advice on what can be done without losing structural integer of the vessel.
thanks,

Post 1990 3467 Santego battery arrangement, weak port starter

Hi all,

I am a new owner of a 1990 3467. I am having trouble figuring out how the batteries are wired.

I have a single Perko switch in a compartment on the port side of the cockpit. There is a single standard-sized battery for the generator that is not connected to anything else; it is to port of the port engine. There are 2 standard sized batteries in the center of the engine compartment. There is also a large 8D battery aft of the starboard engine.

I am not sure how the 8D battery and the other ...

Post 86 3207 what is the power plug on Port side?

Hi All,

Sorry another 3207. Have a signed contract on a 86 3207 Aft Cabin. Plan to sea trial soon but I am puzzled what this power plug is for on the Port side? It does not appear factory to me. Both 30a shore power cords are also plugged in on the Stbd side in the factory location. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Post Battery Monitors

Let's talk battery monitors. Have tried some over the years but never really got into them. A little too much fiddling around IMHO. They get out of sync and do not tell the entire story. Have been mostly relying on a good volt meter to know where I sit. May want to go back after seeing this though. Many manufacturers of these around, Victron, link, Blue Sea to name a few.

Came across this unit that seems to do everything on its own without much intervention. Does bot SOC and SOH, monitors 1 curre ...

Post 506 wiring run from engine room to bridge

Hi,

I have a 506 and need to run a cable from the engine room to the bridge helm. I see the wires going through the access hole on the starboard side under the helm console but unsure of the route and where they come out in the engine room. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Post Lake Erie, New Islands to visit,Detroit River and north

Hello All

Rising waters continue to take their toll. Looking for new places to go to. We are are a bunch of boaters on the western end of Lake Erie, around Put n Bay, Kellys, Middle Bass, Pelee Islands. Over the last ten years we have been heading north, up the Detroit River. Sugar and Celeron Island have been a blast but they too have started to get smaller. We then moved up into Lake St. Clair, Strawberry, Grassy, Gull, Seaway are slowly vanishing also. Looking for recommendations for new ...

Post Volvo Penta Easy Connect

For Volvo Penta gas engine owners. Has anyone installed the Volvo Penta Easy Connect on their engines?

https://www.volvopenta.us/marineleisure ... nnect.html

I am considering it mainly for fuel flow and engine diagnostics. I like the bluetooth idea so I don't have to snake a new cable from the engine room to the bridge.

Like to know:
-If it's a DYI product (seems to be)
-Opinion of it's performance
-What you use it for
-What year engines did you install it on si ...
