Does anyone know a good resource for helping someone decipher a radar screen ( Furuno dome, model 1622, not the colour display ). I have tried running it in daylight ,auto, etc and it just seems like a guy would have to take a course or spend a huge amount of time before comprehension kicks in.. ...comments anyone.....

I am so happy to find this Forum. My husband and I have gone from houseboating to a 1988, 27' Carver. She needs some work, (especially interior) but we love the design. It is so helpful to learn from other Carver owners. We look forward to any tips and ideas.

Looking at a 406, has the LOA listed as 46 ft. Seems a lot longer than the other 40Xs ... bad listing? Bigger boat?

I have a 405 and the boat is new to us...about four months. A few weeks ago one of our marina neighbors called to say that an alarm was going off in our boat. I drove over and found two of the CO detectors sounding an alarm loud and clear. When I opened the windows in the boat, the alarms eventually quit. I was about to put new detectors in anyway, finished that task today. I had to go to the marina tonight to pick up some clothes and the new detectors were sounding again.

She's got a few years on her but she's in great shape with lots of bells and whistles so my wife and I are looking forward to many happy years cruising around the Puget Sound. Hi there. I am going to b installing a 2 bank battery charger on my 87 santigo with twin 180's. Could someone tell me how to wire this up. I want one starting battery and two house batteries. The battery switch is already hooked up to single batteries for each side. Thank you. Tom

Hi guys! Last season I noticed a crack in my port dipstick tube. I tried to fix it but made things worse. Long story short I ended up brazing the dipstick in the tube and had to unbolt the tube each outing to check motor oil.

I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere. This is a 1977 351 with Middle risers if that is any help.

Can I use any aftermarket Ford dipstick?
