Post Hello thanks for having me.

Hi. I'm am new to carvers. I just bought a 1989 Santiago 27. With twin 4cyl mercruisers. I broke the cardinal rule of shopping with my heart as I just fell in love with this boat. Love the layout just perfect for cruising the 600 square kilometres of the Gippsland lakes in Australia. I know it's probably to late to ask as I've already committed to the purchase but have I made a bad decision or is this as good a boat as it looks. Any information from this community on this model, good or bad. Wou ...

Post Butting in

New member.
Thought I'd join the group as I receive a lot of PR from Carver and Marquis and the info might be relevant to you.
I post in a lot of boating and yacht forums because of the PR but I am a boat owner and sailing enthusiast.
Marquis news of a concept with Lexus:

Post Carver 405 MY swim platform storage box

Spent the day crawling all over my new to me 405 Carver. I have it in heated storage so it was quit comfortable. I have read the factory installed storage box at the swim platform has unsealed fasteners and prone to moisture damage? The article indicated it may be necessary to remove rotten wood and replace with a epoxy filler. I could not see where or how the box is attached from the top side view. . Looking underneath the swim platform through the aft cabin access I see no appearance of water ...

Post Seawater impellar replacement Kohler

impellar.jpeg
I struggled for an hour trying to put new impellar in seawater pump today and then used a hose clamp to bend the blades around the hub enough to get started into pump housing. The keyway was still a bear to keep in place while inserting the impellar but some good light to line up impellar with key finally paid off. Have no idea how one would get impellar installed with pump on motor.

Post C37

Yesterday, I went to the Cleveland Boat Show...which was REALLY busy. They finally had a new Carver there after being absent since 2009 or so. The model they had was a 2017 C37 with twin 6.2L Bravo 3 DTS Axxius engines...and was fully loaded. I was a little surprised when there was quite a long line to view this boat, as all the other boats in it's size/ class were walk on and look. Then I boarded and saw why. The boat is BEAUTIFUL!!!! It's the first of the new C series Carvers I had seen, ...

Post Transmission Repair Started

The marina has finally pulled my boat inside to start the transmission repair. They brought the boat inside yesterday. I spoke with the mechanic yesterday. He said the way the boat is laid out he will have to pull both the engine and transmission in order to work on the transmission.

I asked him since he was working on the port tranny could he also replace the fluid in the starboard tranny. That way I will know that the fluid in both transmissions was replaced at the same time.

He said he will ke ...

Post Boat vacuum

I have messy kids! What is your recommendation for a boat vacuum? I would like one small and powerful for dry messes.

Plug in or Battery (boat has a generator, but if mess happens on hook?)
Where do you store it?
What do you have?
